CHILDREN’S YOGA

Yoga is fabulous for children and provides them with enormous benefits and something wildly different in a world that is often, for their generation dominated by screens. The classes are designed primarily to be fun, the poses are given creative names often those associated with animals and may incorporate a form of game or story to help captivate concentration.

Studies have demonstrated that as well as the obvious physical benefits, yoga can improve the mental health and psychological well-being of school age children. It is also said to assist with many behavioural disorders and can improve academic performance.

Children are innately flexible, curious and playful and our children’s yoga classes are designed to engage all of these qualities and encourage the children to unashamedly and freely explore their bodies and minds for maximum fun.

Our classes take account of the fact that children have boundless energy and are incredibly flexible in their joints as well as their spine, however comparatively they have relatively weak muscle strength. Children’s concentration is limited but their ability and willingness to get into a variety of differing postures is exploited for maximum joy and pleasure in our classes.
