Is one of the most popular contemporary styles of yoga. The literal translation of Vinyasa effectively means arranging or combining something in a particular manner. The focus and purpose of Vinyasa is to utilise the breath to enable participants to enhance the movement as they flow seamlessly from one yoga pose (asana) to another. This style of practices of often referred to as “Flow” yoga as you flow from one pose to another whilst combining the movement the breath. The breath is given primary significance and initiates the movement. There will be a sequence to the postures. In our vinyasa classes the postures shall not be rigidly fixed as in an Ashtanga class but they will be varied between each class to allow maximum benefit to be derived for the focus or intention for that individual session. You should expect to experience variety in the number of postures included and also expect to move vigorously with some degree of exertion. Vinyasa yoga falls into the more active styles of yoga. This type of class may appeal particularly to those who enjoy physical activity or those who enjoy a more dynamic yoga session.
